FAQ

Your Medical School Admissions Questions, Answered

Find answers about working with Scholr, including our services, how the process works, pricing and payment, and what to expect from your mentorship team.

What services does Scholr provide?

Scholr offers personalized medical school admissions support including application and OMSAS ABS editing, school list development, interview and MMI preparation, CASPer prep, and MCAT prep, with ongoing mentorship at every stage of the admissions cycle.

Who are Scholr's advisors?

Your mentorship team combines recently accepted medical students, practicing physicians, and former admissions evaluators. One group has just been through the journey you're on, and the other knows how admissions decisions are actually made.

How do I get started?

Book a free consultation to speak with an advisor. We'll learn about your goals, answer your questions, and help you choose the program that best fits your application journey.

How does the free consultation work?

Your consultation is a no-obligation conversation with an admissions advisor. We'll discuss your background, goals, timeline, and recommend the best path forward.

Is the free consultation really free?

Yes. There is no cost and no obligation. You'll leave the call with honest feedback on where you stand and a clear picture of how we can help, whether or not you decide to work with us.

How are your programs priced?

Every student starts from a different place, so pricing is personalized to the level of support you need. Speak with an advisor and we'll recommend the right program and walk you through exact pricing.

Who is Scholr best suited for?

Scholr works with first-time applicants, reapplicants, non-traditional students, international applicants, and anyone looking to strengthen their medical school application.

Do you work with international applicants?

Yes. We help international students identify suitable schools, strengthen their applications, and understand the unique aspects of applying to Canadian medical schools.

Can you help with personal statements and essays?

Yes. We provide detailed feedback, editing, and strategic guidance to ensure your essays authentically communicate your experiences and motivations.

Do you offer interview preparation?

Yes. We provide personalized mock interviews, including MMI, panel, and video interview formats, followed by actionable feedback to improve your confidence and performance.

Can I receive help if I've already submitted my application?

Yes. Depending on where you are in the admissions cycle, we can help with interview preparation, waitlist strategy, and planning next steps.

Why do you limit how many students you work with?

Mentorship only works when your advisors genuinely know you, so we accept a maximum of 300 students per year. That focus is a big part of why 96% of our students earn an acceptance.

Do you guarantee acceptance?

No. No ethical admissions advisor can guarantee acceptance. Our goal is to maximize your chances by building the strongest application possible and preparing you for every stage of the process.
