Medical School Application Editing in Canada

Canada has no single medical school application. Ontario runs through OMSAS and its autobiographical sketch, UBC asks its own non-academic questions, and Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Maritimes, and Quebec each want something different. Scholr edits whichever version you are writing, so every school reads the strongest, most specific account of who you are.

How It Works

01

Strategy and selection

We map your experiences first, then decide which ones belong in which application, so the strongest parts of your profile lead everywhere you apply.

02

The OMSAS autobiographical sketch

For Ontario schools, we help you build an ABS that makes limited characters convey real depth and contribution, with credible verifiers behind every entry.

03

Essays and non-academic questions

For UBC, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Maritimes, and Quebec, we edit each school-specific essay and activity entry to that school's actual prompts, not a generic template.

04

Final review

Before you submit, we read your full application the way a committee would, catching anything that undercuts your story.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only help with OMSAS applications?

No. OMSAS covers the Ontario schools, but we edit applications for every Canadian medical school, including UBC, Alberta, Calgary, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Maritime schools, and the Quebec programs. Each has its own format, and we work in whichever one you are using.

What does application editing include?

The written parts of your application: your autobiographical sketch or activity entries, your school-specific essays and non-academic questions, and your personal statement where one is required. We edit for structure, clarity, and authenticity.

Will you rewrite my application for me?

No, and that matters. Evaluators can tell when writing is not in the applicant's voice. We edit, question, and guide so the work stays yours, only sharper.

Can you help if I am applying in more than one province?

Yes, and that is where strategy matters most. The same experience often needs different framing for OMSAS than it does for UBC or Calgary. We help you adapt each version without starting over every time.

When should I start working on my application?

Earlier than most applicants do. Give yourself the summer to draft, refine, and confirm verifiers, so you are not writing your strongest entries the week a deadline closes.
