Accepted on the First Try, With No Gap Year

The starting point

Jeremy applied straight through, with no gap year, something he points out is getting less common. He came in confident about his experiences but unsure how to present four years of work as a single, coherent application.

What changed

His advisors did not write anything for him, and he is direct about that. What they did was help him focus: work out what he was actually trying to say about those four years, then bring it into clarity on the page.

Interview prep reset his expectations. It is easy to assume you can talk about yourself because the subject is you. Practicing it showed him interviewing is a separate skill that needs its own preparation, and the feedback moved him from doubting his application to presenting it with confidence.

The part he did not expect was how much the team cared. Leah and Lindsay are medical students and residents with their own demanding lives, and they went well past what the job required. He was hesitant at first to ask small questions, then stopped hesitating: the replies were never rushed, and often answered the follow-up before he asked it.

The result

Jeremy was accepted to Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine on his first cycle, without a gap year. On the cost, he is straightforward: it is not a small fee, and for those able to pay it, what it buys is clarity, confidence, and people with a track record who genuinely believe in you as an applicant.
