Prompt
You volunteer as the moderator of a neighborhood online group with 4,000 members. A member posts doorbell camera footage of a teenager taking a $200 package from her porch and asks people to help identify him. Within two hours the post has 300 comments. Someone has posted the boy's name and the school he attends, and several people have written that he should be "taught a lesson." His mother messages you. She says he is 14, he has already returned the package, and he has received threatening messages from strangers. The member who posted the video tells you that she never received an apology and that neighbors have a right to know who is stealing on their street. The group's rules say nothing about situations like this. What would you do?

How to approach this question
This MMI station tests how you use authority over an online space when a crowd turns on a 14-year-old, and the neighbor who was wronged feels brushed aside. Address the immediate risk first, since a child's name and school sit beside threats and you have the power to remove them. Name each person's interest, including the boy, his mother, the member who lost the package, and the 4,000 members who trust the group. Weigh removing the identifying details, the comments or the whole post, and explain how you'd speak privately to the poster and to the mother. Then commit to a rule for the future. If the station brings backlash against your decision, explain your reasoning calmly and separate the thefts from the question of shaming a child.
